Parental Spectrum (RD)

Inspired by a conversation with [link] who has written an amazing Fusion Fall AU series.

The basic gist of the conversation was how Van Kleiss from Generator Rex and Professor Utonium from the Powerpuff Girls were on opposing ends of the spectrum where dealing with those in their care is concerned.
On one end stands Van Kleiss. He puts up with his subordinates only for as long as they're useful to him, and even then his treatment of them is subpar. Just take a look at how he treated Biowulf in Alliance and Breach in Of Lions and Lambs. He also constantly tries to draw others in with empty promises, for once he has them they're stuck and pretty much on their own.
Then, on the other end stands Professor Utonium who goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to his children. He watches out for them and makes sure they have everything they need to not simply grow, but thrive. In Lightning Bird's "Invisible Sun" story his compassion and caring extends even outside his family to provide Dexter with the caring and nurturing the boy otherwise lacked.
